"Lock and Key" is the sixth episode of the sixth series of Peaky Blinders and the thirty-sixth and final episode overall. It aired on April 3, 2022.

Synopsis[]

A war veteran who fought in the trenches, Tommy has been a gangster, an entrepreneur, a captain of industry, a spy, and ultimately a Member of Parliament. In the course of this odyssey, he has taken on numerous criminal organisations, business adversaries, foreign insurgents, and the British Establishment itself. Now, in the 1930's, as the clouds of the coming storm gather, he faces the consequences of his experiences and his actions.

  • It is the longest episode of the entire series, clocking in at over 80 minutes.
  • The final scenes of the series, with Thomas and his Romani wagon, were shot in the Peak District on a popular route, Chrome Hill, near Buxton.
  • The first shot of Thomas is him riding a black horse. The final shot of Thomas is him riding a white horse.
  • Thomas informs Doctor Holford that he is "Back from under the ground.", a reference to both his averted suicide as well as his time spent as a tunneler in WWI. With Thomas' reflection on the Armistice and "Peace at last," it is implied that he has finally left the battlefield and can commence a new life.
  • A new Peaky Blinders Movie is set to release which is a sequel to Peaky Blinders Season 6.
