Cyril is a male Bullmastiff owned by Alfie Solomons, later owned by Thomas Shelby.
History[]
Series 4 • 1926[]
Cyril was first seen in The Company, when Thomas Shelby tracked down Alfie Solomons, confronting him on a beach in Margate. Alfie had betrayed Thomas, by agreeing to smuggle Luca Changretta and his Italian assassins into a boxing match, which later resulted in the brutal attack of Thomas’ brother, Arthur Shelby. Alfie knew Thomas were there to kill him, so he revealed he was dying of skin cancer, subsequently asking Thomas to be put out of his misery. Alfie told him to look after Cyril once he was gone, as he would be very upset and distressed. Thomas was hesitant to pull the trigger, ordering Alfie to look him in the eyes. Alfie shot him in the side, to provoke him to fire and Thomas shot him in the face, presumably killing him. Thomas walked away and left Cyril on the beach, alongside Alfie’s ‘dead’ body.
Series 5 • 1929[]
In Black Tuesday, it was revealed that Thomas kept Cyril, as Alfie had commanded him to. Cyril was seen running out Arrow House and greeting Thomas by his car, when he returned home. Thomas jokingly said “at least you’re still talking to me”, after having arguments with some of his relatives.
